Scientists Anne Osbourn, Trevor Wang, and Caroline Smith worked with artist Chris Hann, writer Tom Corbett, and teachers Wendy Norton and Kathy Lofthouse in this specialist physical/ sensory school where many of the children have complex learning needs. Pupils aged 12-13 explored the theme of ‘temperature’ by using inspirational thermographic images, performing experiments with ice cube chromatography - generating pictures by diffusion of food dyes – and then drawing on their scientific and artistic inspiration to write poetry.
